We are equipped for proteomics research including Cell Fractionation on one floor and tabletop Ultracentrifuges (Beckman Coulter) , Fast Protein Liquid Chromatography (FPLC), Two-Dimensional Protein Electrophoresis (Protean II, Biorad), and Gel Documentation Systems (one Bio-Rad and one Fuji Medical). Protein quantification can be done using UV-Vis spectrophotometry ( DU650, Beckman Coulter) or multimode Plate Spectrophotometers in both 96-well and 384-well micro well plate formats. Protein gels can also be visualized, digitized, and documented on Multi-Mode Imager Typhoon 9410.

  • Beckman Coulter Optima TL ultracentrifuge ( Ultracentrifuge )

High-Speed Benchtop Centrifuges are optimal for subcellular fractionation, proteins and viruses.

  • Bio-Rad PROTEAN i12 IEF System ( Isoelectric focusing device )

"The PROTEAN® i12™ IEF system is used for isoelectric focusing (IEF) on immobilized pH gradient (IPG) strips for the first dimension of two-dimensional (2-D) electrophoretic protein analysis. The PROTEAN i12 IEF cell can run 1 to 12 IPG strips in 7, 11, 13, 17, 18, and 24 cm focusing trays. Each channel in the i12 focusing tray is powered by its own power supply, enabling precise control over each IPG strip. This makes it possible to run different sample types, different pH gradients, and multiple protocols all at the same time."

  • Bio-Rad PROTEAN II xi Cell ( Gel electrophoresis system )

The PROTEAN® II xi cell is a large format vertical electrophoresis cell that is used for the most common electrophoretic techniques such as SDS-PAGE, native electrophoresis, and agarose gel electrophoresis. The PROTEAN II xi cell is available in two sizes to accommodate up to four* 16 x 16 cm or 16 x 20 cm gels.

  • Labconco CentriVap concentrator ( Vacuum centrifuge concentrator )

"Proteomic CentriVap Concentrator Systems include all the concentration components necessary to begin operation except for the vacuum pump. The Refrigerated CentriVap Vacuum Concentrator concetrates multiple small heat-sensitive samples, such as RNA and proteins, using centrifugal force, vacuum and controlled temperature to -4 C (25 F). The DNA Rotor accomodates up to 60 each 1.5 ml and 72 each 0.5 ml microcentrifuge tubes. The CentriVap Cold Trap reaches -50 C (-58 F) for solvent recovery and to protect the vacuum pump by trapping moisture, vapors and corrosive fumes as they evaporate from the samples."

  • Prominence Modular HPLC ( High performance liquid chromatography instrument )

"HPLC systems are currently used in a wide variety of fields. Higher reliability in analysis data and higher efficiency in total analysis workflow are required for faster development of new drugs, for better food safety, and for meeting higher standards in environmental regulations. Many analysis techniques use LCMS, which requires a front-end HPLC system to provide solvent delivery performance in the micro to semi-micro range and injectors with low sample carryover. Prominence is a network-ready HPLC system that meets the demands of today’s advanced users. Prominence features the world's first Web control, fastest sample injection, and highest detection sensitivity performance…functions that surpass current HPLC technology."
